Paladins strength is in its possibility have the mission looted/salvaged in the same time it takes to do it. (Without haveing to waste multiple accounts). I think it will be hard to find another ship that does this faster than a pulse paladin.
A small bonus is the low ammo use.
If all you want is to complete the mission as fast as possible, you would want a nightmare with tachyons. After that I suppose a tachyon abaddon or paladin would work, and if on a budget apoc. (Navy apoc isnt that much different, its just 1 more low slot). |

megapulse II's only have a max range of abourt 25km with MF's... I am gathering youre using a 100mn AB? ?
if so what a waste. just use the standard tach pali...
I tried both tachyons and MPL, and pulse works a lot better for me. Why?
60km range with scorch is enough to pick of most smaller ships before they even get close. I want to kill all BS within TB range, so I start killing them last, and they are usually within MF range by then. (For the ones who stay at 60km tachyons and pulse do the exact same damage).
I dont have to waste any slots on cap-enhancing mods or rigs. (I usually fly with a large booster, with just those 5 charges loaded for missions where I get more neutralizers than usuall, or if I should mess up and permarep for a long time).
With AB travel time between gates is reduced a lot, and usually the pocked is still done and salvaged by the time I get there.
RoF. The shorter time it takes for the guns to be able to fire at the next target the better, and tachyons take over 50% longer time to get ready. This isnt negliable when popping smaller ships with just 1 turret. Offcourse you could just wait for them to come into drone range, and then wait for the drones to kill them...
Web + Tracking. I can give the drones a hand by killing of some of those annoying spider II's.
In the end I guess it is a matter of preference. I myself cant reach the same isk/h ratio with tachyons, and atm. thats what counts for me
